The 9.2 update for BounceBack Ultimate is available for download on the software updates page which can be accessed by registered users in our product registration area. BounceBack Essential 9.2 is expected to be available in the first week of January 2010.

Some of our BounceBack users have encountered problems trying to perform a full system backup of a Windows 7 PC and encountered an error that warns the user there is not enough free disk space. The cause of the problem is related to a hidden partition that Windows 7 installs on some hard drive configurations. Most Windows 7 machines are shipped with a hidden partition that cannot be properly backed up by version 9.0 and 9.1 of BounceBack Ultimate and Essential. This hidden partition can also appear when upgrading a computer with an existing Windows Operating System to Windows 7.

For PC's that do not have this hidden partition, BounceBack performs well without any issues. Windows 7 users who do have the hidden partition can perform a minor change to their configuration in order to use a current releases of BounceBack Ultimate or Essential for full system backup. The workaround for this is detailed in the below PDF file.

Software Update and Upgrades

CMS has tentatively scheduled release of a Windows 7 compatible update for mid to late November. The 9.2 BounceBack Ultimate and Essential release will correct this issue. Customers with a licensed or registered version of BounceBack Ultimate or Essential 9.0 or above will be able to download the free update to version 9.2 from the software updates page on our web site on November 9th. Installation of the 9.2 update will require a full and complete install of the program and a fresh full system backup.
